Abner is a 5-6 month old Redbone waiting in Indiana for his new home. He is pretty reliably housebroken, with only the occasional accident when we close the doggie door and don't catch his signals to go out. His foster mom tells us, "He is such a good boy; quickly learning necessary indoor house rules like "nose off table" and "nose off counter" and "leave it alone". He is very smart and loving and even though he is a big boy puppy, he'll be a lap dog if permitted. He likes to play fetch but isn't so great at bringing it back yet-more like "keep away" from his perspective. He also loves to play tug of war. He is a high energy puppy at times but he easily settles down to snuggle when the play is over. He gets along well with all the other dogs in his foster home, and ignores the very dog savvy cat. Abner would probably do best in a home with other dog playmates. He would make a great friend for a younger to middle age dog that likes to play. He is great with kids and people of all ages. If he is going to be an only dog, then a home with a couple kids to keep him busy would be ideal.
