"I've been waiting a long time,
I just hope that I might find
The right kind of love for me.
You know I've been lonesome,
God knows we all been lonesome.
Some people think that being lonesome really means being free.

But I would give it all up for you.
Yea I would give it all up for you.
Yes I would give it up, settle down, stop looking around.
I finally found something true."
~ Amos Lee

Our Amos is definitely ready to give it all up and settle down in a forever home! This 7 year old male was dropped off at a shelter during the night weighing about half what a dog his size should weigh. Currently in North Carolina, his foster mom tells us, "Amos has cataracts, terrible teeth and arthritis and is hard of hearing, but he is wonderful! He is such a gentle soul." He is so patient with all the other dogs and even when the puppy is jumping on him and biting his ears he just stands and tolerates it. Housetrained with free run of the house. Cratetrained and loves to nap in it. He has obviously been a hunting dog and when he goes out in the woods he really comes to life. He loves to follow trails and gets really intense but will come off easily if you whistle. He walks on a leash like a dream; no pulling whatsoever and will walk on heel if you bring him there and say "heel". Amos is learning that there are people that only want companionship from him and will be nice to him and give him lots of food (he loves his food!). Amos would be really thankful to have a place that he could retire to and have a quality of life in his older years that he probably never had at any time in his life at all. Maybe someone wants to give an older guy a chance to be happy and know love and human kindness. Someone with a little land would be great or maybe an outdoors person that likes to go on hikes with their dogs. Even though he is older he still loves to go for long walks through the woods and follow trails. He gets so much spunk out there that his foster mom has to run to keep up with him. And though he would do really well with an active outdoor lover he would also do well with an older person because he is so gentle. He doesn't jump on people or bump into them or pull them etc. NO cats, please.
