"She told me her name was Billie Jean as she caused a scene
Then every head turned with eyes that dreamed of being the one
Who will dance on the floor in the round
People always told me be careful of what you do
And don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
And mother always told me be careful of who you love
And be careful of what you do cause the lie becomes the truth
Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one but the kid is not my son"
~ Michael Jackson
Our Billie Jean is a 4 year old girl who was found stray in New York. She has a
sweet, calm temperament and is very loving and fun with people.
She is very cuddly and loves soft pillows or a soft dog bed. She
would love to cuddle on the bed or couch, but she respects "no". She has a very stable temperament and gets along well with other dogs.
She
is adorable at the dog park, getting along with everyone, but always
hoping to instigate some wrestling. While wrestling with a hound mix, someone
remarked that she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She just
wants to have fun! So far, I've only heard her howl at the dog park
when she wants to play. As Coonie lovers know, this is so cute that
everyone at the park has a good laugh. She is getting to
like her crate, which often has pieces of chicken sweetening the
deal. When she is content and snuggling down, she makes these little
groaning noises that sound like she is really cozy and comfortable.
Billie Jean likes to know everything that's
going on and be a part of it; she will make a wonderful family
member. If you have a little time every day to play tug of war or
jump around and act silly, she will be the happiest dog in the world.
She is a very bright dog and has
figured out what is expected and allowed. I had to laugh while we
were sorting this out, when she was playful and snuggling into my
neck and giving my hair a little chew! She's so silly and her
approach is so gentle. She is taking signals well and seeing how dogs
and people respond to her. She adjusts her approach to be accepted
and liked. Rides well in the car and doing well with housetraining. She doesn't know the basic
commands yet, except "no" and "off". She almost has "crate". She
knows her name and will usually come if there is nothing exciting
going on. We're working on training, feeding her up (needs about 8 more
lbs), getting plenty of exercise, socialization, and fun. OK with cats, too.
If you think you have room in your heart and home for this
wonderful Coonie, please fill out an
