AB&TC AVAILABLE DOGS - BOATDRINKS12

"Lately, newspaper mentioned cheap airfare.
I've got to fly to Saint Somewhere.
I'm close to bodily harm.

Twenty degrees and the hockey game's on.
Nobody cares; they are way too far gone,
Screamin' "Boat drinks," somethin' to keep them all warm.
This morning I shot six holes in my freezer.
I think I got cabin fever.
Somebody sound the alarm.
I'd like to go where the pace of life's slow.
Could you beam me somewhere, Mister Scott?"
~ Jimmy Buffett

Boat Drinks is a sweet and wonderful 5 month old Treeing Walker boy. He loves everyone he comes in contact with. He doesn’t quite understand why the cat won’t play with him like the dogs do. He is doing great on his crate training and he is completely house trained.

His is clearly a case of neglect: he was hit by a car when he lived with his previous family which resulted in a broken left rear leg. He was never taken to the vet to have his leg repaired and the bone healed in the fractured position. Boat Drink's leg is useless as it is right now. He has lost most of his muscle on that side and can't support his weight on that leg. He is going in to surgery soon for repair of the leg or, if reasonable function cannot be returned to that leg, amputation. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE 1-28-2012: Boat Drinks had surgery this week and is doing marvelously! Dr. Bob was in surgery for several hours and was able to cut a triangular piece of bone out of his leg and re-set the bone so it wasn’t at such a bad angle, then attach an exterior fixator with 5 screws to his leg. He is on crate rest for the next 12 weeks. He is in great spirits and can’t wait to run around on all fours! Thank you all for the donations!
