Ciao Bella is a 3 1/2 year old girl currently living near Seattle, WA. Her owner was deployed out of the country, and she was passed around to several different people, the last of which kept her on the end of a chain. She escaped that lifestyle and was found wandering in a park by her current foster family, who discovered this story by tracing her microchip. They have contacted Rescue, asking for help in finding her a good home this time.
Ciao Bella is very friendly and calm, quiet except for whining when she wants out, reliably housetrained, well-behaved on a leash and a joy for even a child to walk, clean and healthy, good with children and other pets (we have four cats), and is an excellent tracker.
She obeys simple commands like sit, stay, shake and kiss (a little bump with her nose). She is interested in people food and cat food, but does not steal or beg –although she gives pleading looks! She is not at all aggressive with other dogs, and doesn’t bark unless she has a good reason to. She enjoys her grooming time as far as being brushed, and tolerates having her nails clipped and teeth and ears cleaned. She rides well in her a car – we put her in a kennel in the back of our van when we go for drives or even out to run errands. She seems to think she’s “off-duty” when she’s in her kennel, so she curls up to go to sleep after only a few minutes.
