Emmett is a 2 year old Black and Tan Coonhound waiting outside Washington, DC for his forever home. Emmett was picked up as an emaciated stray and now is up to about 60 lbs. Despite his condition, Emmett has always demonstrated an incredible zest for life. He is an active hound that would do well with an active family and would love a fenced yard so he can tree squirrels. He loves to roughhouse with his foster sister Nellie, but once he's had some exercise will settle down and melt into the nearest lap. Emmett is house and cratetrained. He is VERY enthusiastic about his walks, and will need some additional leash training and a firm hand. Whoever adopts this fella is in for a HUGE payoff if they are willing to provide structure and training - he is a really special boy with unlimited love to give.
