I adopted Jackson, formerly known as Norton. He's eating 4 cups of food a day, since he was underweight, and loving every minute of that! He is a food hound for sure!
Thankfully he's house trained and kennel trained and he's VERY well behaved. Lisa Flynn of The Cultured
Canine did a wonderful job training him, and I still have a few more pointers to learn being the pack leader.
He loves to go on walks, and we go on one in the morning and one long hour+ walk at night - that really tuckers him out, but I think he likes following me around more.
Outside, there are lots of squirrels and other small critters in my area and he does very well not to chase after them; he will 'tell' me he sees them though!!
He loves to bring his toys into his kennel, apparently to play with later. I have to be careful though, if I don't watch him like a hawk, he will take that brief opportunity to bring one of my shoes too. So far, I've had to remove 2 sneakers and 1 boot! (We're in the process of breaking that habit, it has only been 1 week!)
He seems to like soft / plushy toys the best, so that's my next "toy" purchase for Jackson.
Finally, Jackson is very social with people, LOVES kids, and I think would rather be with people than with dogs; BUT, I know that although that's good for us humans, he has to interact with dogs, like a dog. Right now, he is a little apprehensive around new dogs, and clearly displays that apprehension. We all want him to be a well-balanced, social dog, so that is my next step, helping him to achieve that goal!
