Joplin is a 4-6 year old coonie girl waiting in the Salt Lake City area for her new home. With consistency, attention and affection, she has blended in well with her foster family and loves to be with the other coonhound in her foster family. She is a healthy, playful girl that is curious, smart, energetic and assertive. She loves to play-fight with her coonhound foster sister for hours at a time, run around the house, then sleep hard for hours. She is housetrained and cratetrained, knows sit and has learned the foster home ropes from her foster sister. She will sleep in her crate overnight but loves the couch or parents' bed, too. She is loving with her foster parents, is a champion snuggler and loves to be petted and cuddled; she has never met a stranger. Her favorite spots are in the sun on the porch or on the couch. She will bark at times but responds to redirection. She sometimes jumps up on people but corrects her behavior easily, wants to please and is not aggressive. She walks well on the leash, rides well in the car and loves to go for excursions. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard and a large doggie playmate as she plays too roughly with small dogs. She would prefer a home with older children, if any. NO cats, please. In good weight at 42 lbs, Joplin is ready for her new home.
