"House rule no exceptions
No bad language no gambling no fighting
Sorry no credit don't ask
Bathroom wall reads is God the answer YES
Too cool to be forgotten
Hey hey too cool to be forgotten
Junebug vs hurricane"
~ Lucinda Williams
Our Junebug knows that she is 2 kool 2 be 4-gotten!
Junebug has made a miraculous turn-around! She is no longer the shivering, shaking, terrified girl that she was when she first arrived at her Maryland foster home after being pulled from a kill shelter. She has left a lot of the insecurities that haunted her in the dust! Junebug has blossomed into a gorgeous, sleek, athletic girl who craves physical activity; this long-legged beauty must have an appropriately fenced area to run, stretch those legs and burn steam. She has learned to love playing ball and will beat the ground with her front paws and shake with anticipation when the ball comes out. It takes a lot to wear out this active girl! She has a beautiful voice and will show it off when she hears the other dogs in her foster home bark. The sound of kibble emptying into her bowl also sends her into a singing frenzy! Junebug is cratetrained and will go in it to 'chill' on her own.
This girl lives with several other dogs and gets along with everyone, however she is still a 'rough player'. It's obvious Junebug did not have a doggie playmate when she was a puppy, so she's still trying to figure the rules out. She attempts to play with her foster brother and sister but quickly overwhelms them, then doesn't understand why they refuse to play with her. Dominant dogs may hurt her because she doesn't read other dogs well. When they 'tell her' they've had enough of her roughhousing, she persists. She isn't very receptive to the body language of her doggie house mates. Although Junebug has no issues with other dogs, she may be too much for small dog, grumpy dog or seniors.
Junebug is happy to go for car rides. She walks pretty well on a leash and her leash manners improve once she works out her wiggles. A good evening for Junebug is to run in the yard, then jump up on the couch with her foster mom and watch a little TV. Since Junebug is so energetic, she may be too much for a home with small children. NO cats, please.
Junebug's ideal home would have a fenced yard, a like-minded doggie playmate, perhaps a jogging owner, and an owner who would continue her socialization with new places.
