It is with great sadness that I write of the passing of our beloved Redbone, Ember, nee Waltzing Matilda. She entered our lives in January of 2014. Long legged and of awkward gait, she quickly grew to be a princess in our hearts and all who met her. She was such a sweet and gentle soul, and I loved that she would sit next to me on the couch in the evenings and curl up under the blankets on cold nights. She loved to spend her days in a sunny patch in the yard, mostly upside down, to the curiosity of the neighbors and was at her best, warning the neighborhood of the approach of the mailman and delivery drivers. An avid plush toy filling inspector, we quickly found ourselves in the used polyfill and squeaker supply business. At dinner, she would offer up her favorite animal pelts in exchange for kibble treats. Intelligent enough to figure out what R-I-D-E and W-A-L-K meant, she was too smart for our stupid human tricks.

For all of these things and the hundreds if not thousands more, we will miss her always and forever!
