Oahu is a delightful 10 year old female Plott/Redbone mix that needs a new home. She was adopted as a puppy in 2014 and spent her life as an only dog in a family home. Her parents were given a Corps of Engineer assignment in late 2024 to Germany to a place that had no accommodation for a large dog. Oahu now lives in a foster home with 3 coonhounds, a Bassett hound and a Jack Russell. It was a little overwhelming for her but she has fit in well with the hounds, but she does not like the smaller dog. She plays and sleeps with all the larger dogs. She is interested in, but does not chase, our cat in the house. She loves to go on walks (not a dog park girl) and rides well in the car. She will play with toys with the other dogs but is not really interested in toys on her own. She loves to be brushed. Oahu was never allowed on the furniture in her previous home but loves her dog beds and is good either loose in the house or in a crate when her foster mom is away from home. She has a terrific personality and is a great companion.
